You are cordially invited

Make History in Virginia and with NFPW Sept. 20–22, 2007, during the annual NFPW Communications Conference in Richmond, Va. The national conference at the Richmond Marriott located downtown and convenient to the airport and bus line boasts a stellar list of nationally and regionally renowned speakers and panelists.

More than 30 speakers will share their insights and knowledge at 20 workshops throughout Friday and Saturday. The seminars are divided into three tracks – Writing, Public Relations, and Life Skills. These professional tracks cover a variety of subject matter and are designed for journalists of all media, as well as communication educators, public relations and advertising professionals, authors, free-lancers, and students.

Attention, authors: Sell your books

NFPW is providing space for authors to sell their books at this year’s conference. All authors may participate, but special consideration will be given to the conference speakers.
If you have published a book and it is available through major booksellers, please provide Cathy Jett with the title of the book so the bookstore vendor can have copies on hand for sale. The bookseller we are using will handle all transactions.
If the book is self-published or only available through special order, authors are asked to bring copies of their books with them or ship them to the hotel. Those authors are asked to please handle their own book sales as it is not possible for our bookseller to do so.
Please let Cathy Jett know by Friday, Aug. 31, if you will be participating in the book sales. The sales and signing will be offered 2 to 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21, and 3:45 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22. Cathy may be reached at cjett@freelancestar.com or 540-374-5407.

Communications students: Please come!

Virginia Press Women encourages Virginia college and university students in the communications field to participate in the NFPW conference. Students may attend one seminar for $20, two seminars for $30, or three seminars for $50. Watch for updates to the speaker list and posting of the registration form early summer.
