The President’s roundtable will focus on the 400th anniversary of the settlement of Jamestown. Plans for it have been 50 years in the making! Leading the discussion are Alisa Bailey, president and CEO of Virginia Tourism; Jeanne Zeidler, mayor of Williamsburg and executive director of Jamestown 2007; and Chip Mann, executive director of the Jamestown 400th Commemoration Commission.

Saturday’s luncheon speaker is the Honorable L. Douglas Wilder, mayor of Richmond and former governor of Virginia. The grandson of slaves, he was the first African American to serve in the Virginia legislature since Reconstruction and the first elected African-American governor in U.S. history. He also is a Distinguished Professor at Virginia Commonwealth University and is the driving force for establishing a national slavery museum in Fredericksburg, Va.
