TMA

Spring 2010 in Roanoke

Combine fine art with great workshops, two keynote speakers, awards, another exciting auction, and good company, and you've got Virginia Press Women's spring conference, April 23.

The conference will held at the Taubman Museum of Art in downtown Roanoke, thanks to generous sponsorship and support from the Taubman and from Leisure Publishing Company. Designed by Frank Gehry protégé Randall Stout, the Taubman has been the center of media attention since it opened in fall 2008 and most recently was featured in the Washington Post [Jan 22 Post story here]. The museum's new director, David Mickenberg, will be available for press tours in the afternoon.

If you have books to sell, let me know. We will have a bookstore (courtesy of the Roanoke College Bookstore) as well as a table or two for writers to sell their own books.

— Cara Modisett, conference chair [cmodisett@leisurepublishing.com]
